Polar Feet® began with a Christmas gift inspiration at a fabric store in Vancouver in 2003. Standing in front of a bolt of cow print fleece fabric I suddenly thought, "Wouldn't cow socks be fun!" I sewed socks for everyone on my list and sent them off. All were delighted, and I found when I wore my own pair around town, people would stop me and ask where did you get those great socks!? The idea of developing this into a business of my own slowly took root and I made the leap--registered my business name, got my licenses, signed up for trade shows...so much to learn and do!
At my first trade show in spring of 2004 I had Cowsox and Snowflower socks. That was it. I didn't have a fancy booth or much of a display but the bright colours and fun prints caught the eyes of passers-by and I got a few orders. I was ecstatic! And I realized I needed more colours and more products for the next time around. I discovered that I have a passion for designing new products, and a good eye for the details that go into producing a high quality product. I won't compromise in what I want to bring to my customers: outstanding quality, fair prices, and personal, super-responsive customer service. Our products are excellent value, beautifully made, and a real person will answer the phone and answer your questions or address any issues to your satisfaction. No phone trees!
In 2011 we launched our slipper line: Polar Feet Perfect Mocs™, Polar Feet Snugs™, and toddler Softsiders™. They have been very well received and there are a lot of happy feet out there wearing Polar Feet slippers. This year we are very excited about even more new products! Finally, Rain Boot Liners/Socks and they are amazing. Made of our own velvety soft fleece with the same flat lock seam construction we use for our socks--they are the most comfortable rain boot liner in the market. And they're definitely not boring!
We are also introducing our new hut bootie line for women, kids, and toddlers. Indoor/outdoor slippers that you can take on a winter camping trip or just wear around the house and feel adventurous! We love that hut booties are all about getting outside to play regardless of the weather. (And looking darn good while you're at it.) At Polar Feet we laugh at the cold!
Polar Feet® now has something for everyone in the family, from newborn to grand-parent. I have learned a ton over the years. I love being my own boss, and have been bouyed through the years by the wonderful support I get from my family, and from the delightful feedback I receive from friends and customers. They road-test new products and are the models on this website.
